Job Purpose
The Customer Finance Data Analyst will play a key role in the operations of EEA Zambia’s credit function by supporting, directly or indirectly, decision makers within and beyond Customer Finance with real-time and right- sized data analysis and actionable recommendations to improve the credit function’s performance. The Analyst will draw insights for action from EEA’s unique, extensive, and rich data sets on customers, products, and markets. S/He will drive improvements in EEA Zambia’s approach to data gathering, analytics, and visualizations. Analyst will be in support of credit operations, credit risk management, as well as own dashboards for performance & forecast visualisations. The role will require familiarization with the steps and stages of EEA’s credit cycle, which encompasses customer vetting, underwriting, onboarding, portfolio monitoring, and arrears management through to the repossession of collateral in case of customer default, and constantly strive to improve the effectiveness and efficiency of the Customer Finance operations at EEA Zambia.
Responsibilities
Conduct data analysis, modelling, and visualizations to inform decisions around customer finance workflow, operational strategy, credit risk appetite, sales and pricing strategies.
Support and in some cases lead the development of standard and ad-hoc Customer Finance reporting needs by summarizing loan portfolio performance and country operational performance against key KPIs (low PvE, adverse performance by product, early/high default, and First Missed Payments etc)
Review performance and prepare Customer Finance commissions and ensure they are processed in a timely manner.
Strong attention to detail and ability to notice discrepancies in data
Working with field teams, collate issues and analyze (system or user) before forwarding to relevant departments for resolution and follow through for closure.
Track issues that come in via customer experience and credit and ensure they are routed to the relevant departments within the company for resolution within agreed SLAs
Data warehousing by work closely with EEA’s Data Team to maintain and optimize data warehousing
to support swift data analytics, modeling, and archiving across the Customer Finance function
Support strategic planning, modelling, budgeting, and forecasting related to EEA’s credit operations
both on consolidated as well as on Country, Product, or other granular level.
High level of competency with analysis and interpretation of qualitative and quantitative data.
Compiling, analyzing, and interpreting quantitative data for adhoc and regular market intelligence analysis
Keep abreast of financial news and trends
Keep track of Departmental budget and Operational Expenses
Ability to effectively manage competing deadlines for projects in a high-pressure work environment,with varying degrees of supervision
Qualification & Experience:
University Degree in Business, Science, IT or related field
Minimum 2 years’ work experience in a Banking, Microfinance or Paygo Business
Experience in Credit Risk Management is an added advantage
Strong analytical, problem solving and decision-making skills
Strong communication & negotiation skills.
Exceptional listening and analytical skills
Self-motivated and ability to multitask and work with minimal supervision
Strong team player, with high work ethics and integrity
Ability to create dashboards and expert presentations in the chosen data visualization tool (Tableau).
Ability to code or query in SQL; additional Python skills are a plus.
Knowledge of statistics and experience using statistical packages for g datasets (Excel, SPSS, SAS, STATA etc.) is a plus
