Kemcore (Z) Ltd is a reputable organization that is operational in Transport and Logistics and manufacturing of gypsum.
The company now seeks the services of highly motivated, qualified, and experienced individuals for its Gypsum manufacturing plant located in Ndola’s Heavy Industrial Area. Applications are invited from suitably qualified individuals for the role of;
PROCESS CONTROLLER
Reporting to the Plant Manager
Job summary
In charge of Unit Plant Operators as well as the Production Service Providers.
Ensures that gypsum of the right purity is produced consistently and at the most optimal throughputs set with the Plant Manager.
Must interact closely with Maintenance team to ensure that equipment utilization is optimized always. Combines technical understanding of the manufacturing process with solid supervisory skills to achieve all production goals.
Key responsibilities
Planning functions
Setting individual unit targets, in consultation with the Plant Manager, taken from company annual and monthly sales targets
Tracking Production performance against targets
Run the Shift from Production side by managing shift changeovers, shift briefings and shift manpower planning and gap-filling.
Production proper functions
Providing Daily Production Reports in standard format to Plant Manager and Production Planner
Managing the movement of all process materials and products in keeping with company Inventory Management Procedure
Back-stopping for Operators when necessary
HSE functions
Supervising and coaching sub-ordinates for Safety and Environmentally sound behavior
Participation in Visible Felt Leadership activities and initiatives of the plant to promote safe work performance by employees.
Participate in Continuous Improvement meetings and initiatives of the company.
Coaching, leading and HR interfacing functions
Supervising and coaching sub-ordinates for Timeliness, Quality, Cost, Personal Skills Improvement
Managing leave and permissions for subordinates to ensure that Production is always covered without placing unsustainable and/or unhealthy work patterns on subordinates.
Managing the requesting, utilization and reporting of overtime for subordinates.
Qualifications
Full Grade 12 Certificate
Degree in Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering
Relevant experience with track record of achievement for over 3 consecutive years
Supervisory experience for at least 3 consecutive years
Direct work experience in the manufacture of bulk chemicals/materials for at least 5 years
Computer Literate, comfortable with MS Office applications including Word, Excel
Experience with Automated Process Control shall be an added advantage.
Emotionally mature to coach and lead in an industrial environment
Physically fit to operate freely and in a hands-on manner on a widely spaced-out plant.
