Our client in the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM) sector is looking to hire a Business Development Manager who will be responsible for driving growth through the identification of new business opportunities as well as the cultivation and maintenance of relationships with clients and partners.

Key Responsibilities:

Plan and oversee the implementation of marketing strategy.

Conduct business intelligence / research of target organisations and individuals to ensure the business has a healthy pipeline of opportunities in new and existing markets.

Monitor industry developments and provide insights to internal stakeholders for strategy management.

Engage with potential clients to establish rapport by arranging meetings / presentations, attending conferences, meetings, and industry events.

Manage, on an ongoing basis, the value proposition for existing customers while attracting and onboarding new ones.

Develop tailored quotes and proposals for clients within service standards based on the their needs.

Day to day management of the Business Development / Sales and Marketing Team.

Collaborate with other departments to ensure the successful delivery of service and products to clients.

Collaboratively derive departmental goals and support the growth of the business development team to meet business requirements.

Train and coach the team to improve their skills sets and facilitate succession plans.

Desired Skills, Qualifications and Experience:

Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing or related field.

5 years minimum experience in business development / sales with Mining Companies, preferably in the Copperbelt.

Must have extensive experience and understanding of the requirements of the mining industry.

Should have established network of contacts within the mining and subsidiary industries.

Demonstrable communication skills and fluency in I.T and Microsoft Office are essential for this role.

Must be able to multi-task and manage complex projects.

Should be well organized and methodical about managing their workload and that of their team.

Must be able to excel with minimal guidance and demonstrate an acceptable level of proactiveness and management of uncertainty.
