Test Analyst

JOB PURPOSE

This function is responsible for supporting the Product Portfolio Management function by providing Test Analysis in product development, testing, quality assurance so as to ensure effective testing of products within the bank. Give support to the Product Managers in their day to day operations.

Under the supervision of the Product Portfolio Management Head, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:

• Gathering and managing the test data
• Identifying the target test items to be evaluated by the test effort
• Defining test cases and scenarios for testing products and initiatives
• Design and develop test cases in consultation with the Users, Business Analyst and Systems Developers and product-based specifications
• Design, develop and execute reusable and maintainable automated scripts using available tools
• Plan testing at different stages within the development cycle, including formulation of testing objectives and quality criteria, development of testing strategy and recommending testing approach; ensure cohesive integration of test and development activities
• Managing the tests and testers according to test plan.
• Recommend functional and non-functional testing standards and implement same within the product test cycle.
• Manage the complete test cycle of product development from requirements testing to user acceptance and release testing.
• Analysing test results in line with established test scenarios.
• Evaluate test data in conjunction with the Product Managers and other team members
• Apply the results in influencing the direction the test plan takes as well as informing decisions of the business.
• Evaluating the outcome of each test cycle
• Create and maintain effective test databases in consultation with Business Analyst and Systems Developers.
• Run with test case sign-offs
• Make recommendations on acquisition of appropriate testing tools.
• With a view of maintaining a good level of support, the analyst whenever requested by the Product Manager and Team Leader, would also attend to user support queries and participate in the prioritisation, diagnosis and resolution of support issues.
• Partner with other product teams in the Product Portfolio Management department for the purpose of defining goals collaboratively as well as the identification of key metrics for developing and testing the products.
• Work closely with the Product Managers in order to rapidly design experimental products and iterate on the results.
• Work closely with other business and data departments in order to develop core data sets that promote accurate product test analyses.
• Liaise with senior management in matters of significance in order to determine methods and techniques that will lead a product project into successful completion.
• Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management

• Requirements

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

• Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
• Degree in Computer Science, Business Information Technology, Electronics & Information, Economics, Finance or any Business and IT related field.
• Minimum of three (3) years’ work experience in test analysis
• A proven record of experience working with computer software, testing and coding.
