PURPOSE OF THE JOB:

To oversee the management of fleet and garage personnel.

KEY RESULT AREAS

Fleet Availability

Full availability of trucks, forklifts and trailers maintained to minimize down time and achieve agreed KPI’s.

Minimised Breakdowns

Reduced breakdowns through effective supervision of maintenance works carried out and accurate analysis of maintenance reports.

Satellite Tracking Management

Reduced fuel costs and traffic incidents by maximizing the usage of built-in computerized systems on vehicles.

Fixed Costs Management

Budgets developed and managed in line with actual expenditure.

Petty cash purchase approvals

PODs regularly managed and analysed and reported.

People Management

Shift rotas and leave days closely managed to maximize efficiency.

Staff discipline maintained.

Overtime managed within budget

Performance managed through regular monitoring of goals and conducting one on one meetings.

Service Compliance Achievement

Manage the servicing of all vehicles as per company policy.

Daily Inspections Conducted

No trucks dispatched with major or un-detected defects.

DPO Fleet Pillar Owner

No trucks were dispatched with major or undetected defects.

DECISION-MAKERS AND AUTHORITIES

Payment approvals in Flowcentric

Authority to ground vehicles due to safety-related issues.

Overtime approvals

COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATION

Full grade 12 certificate with a minimum of 6 O-levels

Diploma in a relevant field

LEGAL

Full unendorsed Drivers Licence

TRAINING

Syspro

Microsoft Excel

Warehouse Procedures

EXPERIENCE:

A minimum of two years work experience in Actros, Shacman, Beiben, and Axor at a supervisory level.
