Role Summary

Reporting to the Pump Fitter, you will be responsible for ensuring pipes are in place and laid to designated dewatering and production faces. Your duties will include but not limited to the following:

Job Responsibilities

• You will lay pipes to the to deliver water to designated areas
• Responsible for safely clearing of water pipes and water pumps in readiness for blasting
• To carry out pre-start checks of pumps and run them to dewater the pit sumps
• Physical Demands and Work Environment
• The employee must occasionally lift and /or move more than 15Kgs and frequently lift and/or move up to 40Kgs of mass
• Frequently required to walk
• Occasionally required to climb, balance, bend, stoop, kneel or crawl
• Occasionally work around fumes, airborne particles, or toxic chemicals
• While performing the duties of this job, the noise level in the work environment is usually very loud

Experience & Qualifications

• MUST possess a valid silicosis certificate
• Prior knowledge of pumps will come in handy
• Relevant experience with high volume dewatering diesel and electric pumps
• Able to read and write
