Responsibilities:
· Manage general ledger Accounts (Income statement and balance sheet);
· Reconcile general ledger/sub-ledger which is revenue related;
· Ensure the preparation of income statement schedules and reports (including age analysis,interconnect, etc);
· Review reports on key performance metrics;
· Make informed decisions from analyzed data to facilitate operational efficiency;
· Prepare month end and year end reporting deadlines in compliance with the group’s directives and guidelines;
· Contribute to the development and monitoring of internal controls for financial transactions in collaboration with other departments;
· Provide support for periodic internal and external audits and other statutory and regulatory
Requirements;
· Oversee the efficient optimization of relevant databases and systems inclusive of the ERP;
· Review relevant management and board papers;
· Monitor compliance with MTNZ, MTN Group PPP’s, IFRS, IAS and ZRA regarding Financial transactions;
· Review of business and accounting rules for new products and services;
· Monitor correct remittance of the correct excise duty on airtime to ZRA in collaboration with the Senior Tax Manager;
· Review weekly revenue forecast and identifies associated risks/ opportunities;
· Ensure compliance with fixed assets PPPs and related accounting;
· Provide adequate support for revenue assurance leakage management function;
· Provide guidance for the resolution of interconnect disputes related to revenue;
· Review of agreements, contracts and deal structures in respect of co-location, interconnect,
roaming and value-added services;
· Conduct relevant carrier revenue and cost of sale verification and assurance in conjunction with revenue Assurance department;
· Provide input to overall budgeting, modeling, long range and forecasting to management;
· Prepare and present to the Senior Financial Operations Manager weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual reports in agreed formats and a timely basis;
· Effectively manage the development of direct reports, effectively linking performance
management, learning & development, talent management and the MTNZ Employee Value
Proposition to achieve optimum performance;
· Stay abreast of developments in areas of expertise and perform to the highest ethical and professional standards;
· Carry out any related duties that will enhance the mission of the job.
Candidate Requirements
· Degree in Business/Accountancy/ ACCA/CIMA;
· Grade twelve (12) Certificate with 5 credits or better including English and Mathematics;
· Minimum of three (3) years inventory/revenue management in an FMCG environment;
· Minimum 2 years supervisory experience;
· Telecommunication experience essential;
· Knowledge of MTN Zambia procedures, processes and quality standards;
· In-depth knowledge of standard operating procedures;
· Good knowledge of MTN PPPs;
· Experience in using an ERP system;
· Knowledge of internal controls;
· Knowledge of applicable international accounting standards, IFRS, GAAP, IAS, etc;
· Cost management and financial accounting knowledge.
