Job description:

Overall Job Purpose:

The purpose of this role is to install new as well as repairs to existing plumbing fixtures and water, waste disposal, drainage and gas systems in residential, and industrial buildings.

Specific Job Responsibilities:

The specific tasks to be performed by the position holder will include:

• Redesign and or design and inspect plumbing systems, perform diagnostics, and ensure they comply with regulatory code.
• Design and be able to do any new water reticulation needed.
• Reading and interpreting plans to assess or plan plumbing installations and layouts.
• Installing, maintaining and repairing plumbing systems and fixtures.
• Fitting and repairing various household plumbing fittings.
• Cutting, welding and assembling pipes, tubes, fittings, and fixtures required in the plumbing field.
• Inspecting and testing plumbing systems for safety, functionality, and code compliance.
• Troubleshooting and resolving problems to do with plumbing.
• Install and repair all types of water and sewage pipes
• Install and repair all types of water heaters.
• Install and repair all types of toilet systems.
• Install and repair all types of water taps and valves.
• Know how to apply waterproofing products.
• Know how to be Safety compliant with all works.
• Any other tasks as may be delegated up the Coordinator.

Experience required to perform in this job:

• Correct plumbing qualifications.
• 3 years of working experience in a similar position.

Qualifications:

• Full grade 12 school certificate.
• A Trade/Crafts certificate or Equivalent.
