Zambeef Products PLC is the largest integrated cold chain food products and Agribusiness Company in Zambia and one of the largest in the Southern Africa region. It is involved in the primary production, processing, distribution, and retailing of beef, chicken, pork, eggs, dairy, fish, flour, stock feed, and day-old chicks throughout Zambia and the surrounding region.

The Required Skills for this Role Include:

  • Optimising management’s effectiveness by recruiting qualified staff, selecting employees who will be assets to the company, orienting and training them, coaching, counseling, and disciplining ineffective members of staff.
  • Taking responsibility for the setting of annual sales forecasts in line with the company’s production forecasts in order to achieve the financial budgets laid out by the General Manager
  • Coordinating staff efforts by establishing sound policies and practices relevant to the sales and distribution efforts of the company in order to maintain smooth operations
  • Motivating the sales team to achieve and exceed daily, weekly, monthly and annual sales targets while ensuring they have the resources available to undertake the tasks assigned
  • Sourcing new customers while servicing existing customers, ensuring none are neglected
  • Obtaining and processing customer feedback per Zambeef Customer Care Policy
  • Coordinating the response to quality issues and test wear projects
  • Taking responsibility for the running and upkeep of the sales and marketing vehicles
  • Coordinates with the Marketing Division of Zambeef for the development, ordering, safekeeping and distribution of company marketing materials
  • Coordinates with the Supply and Logistics Manager and the Retailing and Marketing divisions of Zambeef in order to open new Macro outlets/agents for all Zamshu ranges
  • Informing customers of new products and price changes
  • Ensuring all sales are accurate and submitted on time
  • Coordinating with the Marketing Division of Zambeef for the company branding and marketing efforts including participating in shows, trade fairs and marketing events
  • Ensuring company tenders are drawn up in time and submitted by deadline dates
  • Ensuring marketing equipment/materials are logged on an inventory and are properly updated and maintained
  • Taking responsibility of the security of physical assets of the sales department in order to minimize losses through damage and pilferage
  • Recommending to the General Manager the replacement of aged and ineffective machinery within the department in order to reduce maintenance cost

The Required Qualifications are:

  • Grade GCE/12 certificate with 5 credits.
  • Diploma in Sales or Marketing
  • 3 years experience in Sales Management

  • Required computer literacy levels
  • Strong Excel skills
