JOB PURPOSE

Responsible for driving uptake and usage of cards. To develop, implement and manage a profitable and sustainable country card business. Accountable for all related financial and service KPIs.

Requirements

Under the supervision of the Head Retail Products the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities: –

  • Contributes to the implementation/execution of the card sales strategy
  • Facilitate deployment of new card programs and products
  • Increase services and products on ATMs
  • Responsible for card sales proposition and sales strategy
  • Develop training programs for branch front office
  • Responsible for revenue performance of the card sales channel.
  • Ensure increased transaction volumes on POS
  • Identify and increase opportunities to increase card sales penetration in conjunction with products and channels.
  • Conduct quarterly market sizing and provide initiatives to stay ahead of market
  • In charge of delivering full card value proposition for all segments across the business
  • Ensure that the card proposition is carried on all bank branding items/adverts/articles/ and print.
  • Responsible for delivery of positive income statement for card business
  • Ensure that the initiatives and strategies of card schemes (Visa/Mastercard/UPI) are implemented
  • Drive Card Business Strategy through Customer retention
  • Drive Transaction volumes both domestic and international
  • Ensure Product development and value addition, growth in Business Alliances and Partnerships
  • Manage end to end client communication pertaining to cards
  • Coordinate with relevant stake holder to ensure achievement of target ATM / POS uptime
  • Maintaining and growing relationships with relevant stakeholders across multiple business categories for on-boarding on Zanaco’s card value proposition e.g. aggregators, telecoms
  • Provide weekly and monthly management dashboards for card sales business
  • Ensure training, implementation and support and project management advice.
  • Identify ATM sites and facilitate location and relocation of all ATMs in the network
  • Ensure that there is sufficient card stock for all departments
  • Manage card related payments are raised in Zanaco procurement system.
  • Ensure that invoices for card vendors and courier service for freight of cards into the country are settled.
  • End to end tests for new products on ATMs and cards
  • Responsible for Vendor Management and Vendor Evaluation for onboarding
  • Responsible for the Regulatory/Compliance of risks attached to card management
  • Ensure the Card Procurement and Card Distribution
  • In charge of Project Implementation
  • Any other responsibilities or tasks as maybe assigned by management.

  • Local regulators on statutory matters
  • Card vendors: G&D, IDEMIA
  • Card Schemes: Visa Mastercard UPI
  • NFS & BAZ
  • Officials of regulatory bodies e.g. BOZ– for compliance and market information.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE

  • University Degree/equivalent in relevant subject or banking qualification preferable
  • Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects
  • At least five (5) years of experience in banking/commercial experience
  • Demonstrated complaint handling and resolution skills
  • Strong Interpersonal, Sales, Presentation and Negotiation skills.
  • Stakeholder management to Communicate and network effectively, both internally and externally
  • Good knowledge of banking systems and processes used by the bank and customers
  • Knowledge of legal and regulatory issues typical for country banking systems and Knowledge and analytical skills, ability to understand main aspects of a financial institution’s operations an added advantage
  • Strong knowledge of Bank products and channels an added advantage
  • Good knowledge of POS and ATM management.
