Distributions Manager

The Zambia Daily Mail is a Limited Company wholly owned by the Industrial Development Corporation (IDC). The Company is incorporated under the Companies Act, number 10 of 2017 of the Laws of Zambia. It is one of the leading publishers of daily newspapers in Zambia.

Distributions Manager

We are currently seeking a highly skilled and motivated Distributions Manager to join our reputable newspaper Company and manage newspaper distribution, Courier and epaper.

2.1 Responsibilities

a) Develop and execute strategies to optimize the distribution process, ensuring timely and accurate delivery of newspapers to various outlets.

b) Manage and oversee distribution operations, including logistics, inventory management, and transportation.

c) Monitor distribution performance metrics, analyze data, and implement improvements to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

d) Build and maintain strong relationships with distribution partners, negotiating contracts and ensuring service level agreements are met.

e) Collaborate with internal departments, such as production and sales, to forecast demand and plan distribution activities accordingly.

f) Develop and implement quality control measures to maintain the integrity of the newspaper throughout the distribution process.

g) Lead and manage a team of distribution staff, providing guidance, training, and performance evaluations.

h) Stay updated on industry trends, technological advancements, and best practices in distribution management.

i) Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and safety standards in all distribution activities.

2.2 Requirements

a) Full grade 12 certificate.

b) Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.

c) Five (5) years proven experience as a Distributions Manager or in a similar distribution management role.

d) Strong knowledge of distribution processes, logistics, and inventory management.

e) Proficient in using distribution management systems.

f) Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.

8 Strong leadership and people management abilities.

h) Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally

1) Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.

1) Membership of Zambia Institute of Marketing (ZIM) a must.
