Rockview University is looking for a qualified and highly motivated individual to fill the position of Senior Accountant to be stationed at our 10 Miles Campus.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement financial strategies, policies, and procedures to support the organisation’s goals and objectives.
  • Oversee all financial operations, including budgeting, forecasting, cash flow management, and financial reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and accounting principles, maintaining accurate and transparent financial records.
  • Lead the annual budgeting process and provide ongoing financial analysis
  • Monitor key financial metrics, prepare financial reports, and present financial performance to the senior management team and stakeholders.
  • Provide strategic financial advice and insights to support decision-making, investment opportunities, and business planning.
  • Manage relationships with external stakeholders, including banks, auditors, and regulatory authorities.
  • Lead and develop a high-performing finance team, fostering a culture of collaboration, professionalism, and continuous improvement.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, changes in financial regulations, and best practices to ensure the company’s financial health and compliance.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, such as operations, sales, and HR, to support business initiatives and drive financial success.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, or a related field; or professional finance qualification (e.g., ACCA, ZICA or CIMA) preferred.
  • Proven experience in a senior finance management role, preferably within the education sector.
  • Strong knowledge of financial principles, regulations, and accounting standards.
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement financial strategies aligned with business objectives.
  • Proficient in financial analysis, budgeting, forecasting, and cash flow management.
  • Exceptional leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and motivate a finance team.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to effectively communicate financial information to non-financial stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a keen attention to detail.
  • Experience in managing relationships with external stakeholders, such as auditors and financial institutions.
