Purpose of the role:

To manage and optimize inventory levels for the company. The Inventory Controller is responsible for ensuring that the right quantity of products is available at the right time to meet customer demands while minimizing inventory carrying costs.

  • Reports to: Parts/Warehouse Supervisor.
  • Branch: Kansanshi x1.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

The Inventory Controller will be required to perform the following tasks:

Demand Forecasting and Analysis

Utilize historical sales data and other relevant information to forecast product demand accurately using SPM.

Ana-lyze demand patterns and seasonal variations to identify potential risks and opportunities.

Collaborate with sales and other teams to gather inputs and insights for more accurate forecasting.

Inventory Planning and Optimization

Develop inventory plans and replenishment strategies based on demand forecasts, lead times, and inventory targets.

Optimize inventory levels to strike a balance between customer satisfaction, working capital, and storage costs.

Monitor and adjust inventory parameters such as reorder points, safety stock levels, and order quantities to optimize inventory performance.

Supply Chain Collaboration

Work closely with HCAF and other suppliers, planners, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely and accurate delivery of goods.

Coordinate with HCAF and other suppliers to manage purchase orders and resolve any supply-related issues.

Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, production, and logistics, to align inventory plans with business objectives.

Inventory Analysis and Reporting

Conduct regular inventory analysis to identify slow-moving or obsolete items and recommend appropriate actions.

Generate reports and key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure inventory performance, such as stock turnover, fill rate, and order fulfillment.

Provide insights and recommendations to senior management regarding inventory trends, risks, and opportunities.

Continuous Improvement

Identify and implement process improvements to enhance inventory management efficiency and accuracy.

Stay updated with industry best practices and emerging technologies to drive innovation in inventory planning and optimization.

Participate in cross-functional projects and initiatives aimed at improving overall supply chain performance.

Qualifications & Experience

Must have a full Grade 12 certificate.

Minimum of a Diploma in Purchasing and Supply or any related field

Minimum of 3 years’ experience in Warehousing in a related industry

Valid Silicosis certificate

Job Specific Competencies

Good communication skills

Proficient in computer skills (MS Excel and MS Word) and able to use MS Dynamics AX

Strong analytical skills

Attention to detail.
