The position reports to The Building Foreman – Civils. The successful candidate will be responsible for supervising maintenance and repair works for institutional houses, pump stations, irrigation support structures and sewerage systems around the farm.
Key performance areas
- Planning, scheduling, assigning, and supervising personnel carrying out maintenance works.
- Planning and organizing materials, and tools required for maintenance works.
- Ensuring that all works are done as per schedule.
- Ensuring that all works are done to acceptable engineering standards.
- Supervising and participating in preventive maintenance of the company infrastructure
- Setting out of any maintenance/repair works
- Setting out levels for any maintenance/repair works using levelling instruments such as a Dumpy Level
- Formulation of BOQs for various maintenance works.
- Interpret blueprint drawings to personnel carrying out maintenance works.
- Adhering to and promoting SHERQ standards
- Any other duties assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE
- Minimum of grade Twelve (12) school certificate
- Craft Certificate or advanced certificate in Building Construction.
- Minimum of Two (2) years of work experience in a supervisory role.
- Paid up member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
