Live Well Social Business is an impact-driven social business, promoting health and providing access to health products while creating employment in underserved communities, through a network of Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs). Live Well is a social business under CARE Social Venture Corp set up through a sponsorship and donation agreement with GlaxoSmithKline Services Unlimited, Barclays Bank PLC and CARE International UK in 2017.
Every year, Live Well trains hundreds of Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs) to lead last mile health information dissemination and health products distribution. We aim to contribute towards SDGs number 3 (Good health & wellbeing), 7 (affordable and clean energy) and partly 8 (decent work & economic growth).
This flexible last mile health and nutrition infrastructure fills the gap between the community and Public Sector health services, as prescribed in the organisation's Memorandum of Understanding with the Government of Zambia. It strengthens the economic status of Community Health Workers (CHWs) by turning them into Community Health Entrepreneurs (CHEs) to boost their incomes at household levels
Its Community Health Entrepreneur model creates viable business opportunities for Community Health Volunteers in underserved communities across Zambia. Community Health Entrepreneurs earn a livelihood and become key Access Points for health products and information
In the last 5 years Live Well has trained over 2,500 CHEs, reached over 500,000 people and sold over 1 million products across 6 provinces we work in. It serves an average 2,000 households monthly.
