Based in Lusaka, Zambia, Lusaka International Community School (LICS) is a co-educational, secular, fee-paying, non-profit school, which provides an internationally recognised education to a culturally diverse, globally-minded student body in a caring and supportive learning environment. LICS holds in high esteem its vision statement which is to “maximise the potential of future world citizens”.

LICS is a leading independent Pre-Primary, Primary, and Secondary School based in the leafy suburb of Roma in Lusaka, Zambia, and is a member of CIS, AISA, and ISAZ.

The school currently has an opening and is looking for a suitably qualified individual to join the LICS community as an Arts Academy Administrator with effect on 1st May 2023.

1. Requirements

At least three years experience in a full-time administrative, team-adept position focussed on keeping abreast of administrative and organisational functions.

Experience in school administration would be preferable.

2. Qualities

A good grasp of Excel worksheets, strong knowledge of MS Word, very good cognition of the English language and writing skills, as well as excellent interpersonal skills.

Friendly/amiable, team player, self-motivated and enthusiastic, have the ability to handle stressful bouts with ease and confidence, well-presented as the frontline representative of the Arts Academy.

Diploma in Business Administration or related studies

4. Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities

4.1 Administrative Duties

Keeping abreast of customer payments as well as following up of payments due/outstanding

POS sale and invoicing

Liaison with LICS Accounts Department on payments and expenditure

Maintaining and updating Arts Theatre bookings

Email/telephone correspondence with teachers and parents

Creating and issuing fee notes for Academy Administrator activities

Up-to-date documentation and filing of Academy Administrator instrument hire

4.2 Student Management

  • Managing and timetabling teaching schedules for music teachers termly.
  • Keeping abreast of tracking make-up lessons owed to students by liaising with peripatetic music teachers.
  • Taking register of teachers’ teaching schedules

4.3 Customer Service

  • Developing and maintaining excellent relations with parents, students, and teachers
  • Providing and promoting accurate details of Academy Administrator services and events on offer
  • Responding to lesson enquiries via the Academy Administrator email address

4.4 Academy Administrator Marketing

  • Updating Arts Academy Facebook page weekly
  • Promotion of special Academy Administrator events through posters, notice boards, and social media.

The school follows the University of Cambridge International Examinations (CIE) curriculum, providing a full range of subjects in academic disciplines, as well as co-curricular activities in the areas of culture, creative arts and sport. Students interested in attending LICS for their 6th Form/A-Level are also invited. All courses follow the Cambridge Assessment International Education (CAIE) syllabus.
