BIA Group is active in the sales, rentals and after-sales services of equipment intended for public works, mines, quarries and transport. The Group operates in Europe (Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg) and in more than 20 African countries.
Job Responsibilities
- Follow up Equipment and parts shipments from the suppliers, clearing agent/forwarder until destination
- Work closely with the sales team by giving information on the position of shipments
- Control import documents by creating Cost Files for each shipment
- Record information for tracking of orders for customers and produce a weekly report
- Ensure that transporters and freight forwarders adhere to Health, Safety & Environment procedures
- Coordinate shipping and logistics processes and maintain records, documents e.g., customs documents, freight invoices for costs analysis
- Reconcile Duties, VAT and any other taxes payable to Zambia Revenue Authority
- Engage ZRA and clearing agents by travelling to the borders as required
- Work closely with the warehouse teams, freight forwarders and overseas insurance companies in cases where goods are damaged
- Any other Logistics and Customs duties as assigned
Qualifications
- Diploma in logistics or equivalent by experience
- 3-5 years’ experience in a similar function
- Good knowledge of Incoterms
- Excellent knowledge of MS Office/Excel
- Good understanding of triangular shipping processes
- Customs knowledge and familiar with the laws of Zambia CAP 322 – Customs Act
- Valid member of the Chartered Institute of Logistics & Transport (ZCILT) with practicing license as prescribed by the law
