ControLab Zambia Limited is a specialist testing laboratory, offering geotechnical investigations and construction materials testing services to the civil, geotechnical, and structural engineering fraternity.

In order to further improve its delivery of services, the firm intends to hire the following:

1. Geotechnical Engineer (01)

Key Responsibilities

Supervise and lead field and laboratory construction materials investigations.

Write and present geotechnical engineering proposals and reports.

Ensure that project budgets and schedules for site investigations are met.


  • Grade Twelve (12) School Certificate with Five (5) Credits or better.
  • Degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent and member of EIZ.
  • Relevant work experience in a construction materials laboratory or in the field of geotechnical engineering, civil engineering or a related field.
  • Familiar with ASTM, TMH1, SABS and British Standards.
  • Strong problem-solving skills, including early identification of inadequacies in test results data.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Packages (Word and Excel) is a must.
  • Effective written, interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work outside normal business hours when (or as need requires) required.
  • Flexibility to travel even at short notice.
  • Valid Driver’s License
