DP Coordinator Job Description

The IBDP Coordinator reports to the HoS, and collaborates closely with the School Management Team, in particular the Counsellor, the National Programme and IGCSE coordinators, and the EE and CAS coordinators.

The IBDP Coordinator provides educational leadership throughout the school and ensures the preparedness of the staff for the curriculum. The coordinator is accountable for predictably achieving a certain level of performance by planning, execution, monitoring and ensuring parents and learners satisfaction

Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate the planning, implementation, and monitoring of IB programme development initiatives
  • Communicate with IB for the authorization, review and evaluation of programme implementation
  • Communicate with students’ parents, legal guardians, and the wider community to inform them about the IB programme offered by the school
  • Ensure that all teachers and staff facilitating the learning in the program have access to
  • IB curriculum documentation and curriculum framework
  • relevant communities (online or traditional)
  • Fostering ongoing collaboration between learners and teachers in the program
  • Develop the policies required by the various by IB
  • Inform the school community about professional development
  • Monitor the implementation of the main components of the program
  • Provide educational leadership in the school programme
  • Facilitate the administration of assessments required by the IB programme
  • Activities for which the coordinator provides support to the school:
  • Designing the curriculum used as part of the school programme
  • Developing the mission, vision, and strategy around the curriculum
  • Develop and promote the essential pedagogical elements of the programme (learning approaches, teaching approaches, learner profile, etc.)
  • Introduce the programme offered by the institution to new staff and train them
  • Record and follow up on internal assessments at the institution
  • Organize professional development p general professionals (not imposed by the programs)
  • Provide recommendations to students concerning the next stages of their learning or the transition to a new educational and/or professional experience
  • Control student admissions and access to programmes delivered by the establishment
  • Monitor the paths of former students or students entering other programmes
  • Provide educational leadership throughout the school
  • Develop calendars or timetables
