Job Purpose

The Sales Consultant will be responsible for identifying and meeting customer needs (Defence Forces) within their sales territory, maintaining good after-sales relationships, keeping records of customer appointments and completed sales, and providing detailed information on the products they are selling.

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Engage the prospect/customer in a conversation to find out what vehicle they currently drive.
  • Provide customers with detailed information on products to meet their needs.
  • Advise prospects/customers of the availability of the vehicle of their interest and make those comments in Follow up sheet
  • Ensure that showroom vehicles are always in line Showroom vehicle display Guideline
  • Take charge of explaining the purchasing process to all customers
  • Follow up with the customer until they either purchase or they are no longer in the market for a vehicle.
  • Develop a relationship with prospect/customer/ Defence Forces Procurement Units
  • Ensure that all contacts made with prospects/customers/Defence Force are noted in Follow up sheet whether prospect/customer requests quote(s) or not
  • On Daily Basis compile all webmail, email, telephone contact, and prospect/customers to visit the Dealership so that proper Product presentation and Test Drive can be accomplished.
  • Take part in trade shows, exhibitions, and networking with local associations to promote the product
  • Follow up debtors, and daily inform Sales Leader about status.
  • Make Cold Calls to get new business
  • Arrange test drives for all prospects/customers
  • Constantly update customers with information relating to the timely delivery of their vehicle and input the discussion on Follow up sheet.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the immediate Supervisor

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Diploma in Sales and Marketing or any Business related discipline
  • A degree in Sales and Marketing or Business Administration will be a plus
  • Must have a minimum of 3-4 progress work experience in a similar Sales/Marketing role
  • Business Networks or Sales and Marketing with the Defence Forces will be an added advantage
  • Must have a Driver's license for manual transmission vehicles and automatic.
