Job Description


Job Purpose

  • The Sales Manager will be required to achieve Used Cars sales plans through a systematic approach to the sales process and daily management of the sales team, through meetings, control and support. Work with the HOD to Coordinate the branches’ marketing activities, take an active role in the events and support reporting processes. Increase the market share through retention of existing and winning new customers. Take the lead in ensuring that order of right product mix, smooth logistic, manage order pipeline and the vehicles preparations for display. Constantly monitor FX rates and make sure that the price calculations match the trends. Coordinate activities with Service Department

Summary of Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and maintain personal contact/relationships with potential buyers by following up on leads
  • Plan and coordinate sales in the network for Used Car.
  • Create and achieve a monthly sales plan per vehicle model and ensure the sales team force is positive and proactive.
  • Ensure the utilization of the 90 Days Prospecting Sheet as a sales tool and teach the sales force team about converting leads to sales through good communication.
  • Design new customer conquest by organising and systematising visits to potential new customers, monitor and report accordingly.
  • Plan and hold weekly meetings with sales leaders and consultants to review the current status and following week’s plans
  • Effectively lead and direct the sales team in identifying potential customers and markets for improved business performance and market share.
  • Continuously investigate and analyze the used vehicles market in Zambia. Follow the trends in the used vehicles market in terms of models available, pricing, demand and supply from overseas.
  • Ensure that area vehicles are always in line with the Used Cars display Guideline
  • Propose marketing activities for used vehicles.
  • Monitor traffic on the website (incoming quotation and test drive inquiries) and other digital media and redirect to the sales team accordingly.
  • Take the lead in the creation and implementation of marketing events and other sales Ordering promotion materials and corporate wear, and ensure all vehicles are branded and our service areas reflect the Corporate brand.
  • Create and update customer lists (database) in different categories for communication and marketing activities.
  • Work closely with the Logistics team in monitoring the transportation process of used vehicles from Japan to Zambia to ensure a consistent and continuous supply.
  • Take the lead Sales Trade-in, including used car evaluations, purchases and sales administration.
  • Define and organize necessary refurbishment of used vehicles
  • Monitor service appointment list to provide sales opportunities to Sales Executives to meet vehicle owners, and potentially offer test drives.

Primary Areas of Accountability:

Qualifications and Experience

  • Degree in Engineering or Sales and Marketing or any Technical Field
  • Have must have at least a minimum of 5-7 years of experience in the automobile industry or Sales of Heavy Mining Equipment (i.e CAT, Hitachi)
  • Be well versed with Microsoft Office Packages
  • Must be able to drive both manual transmission vehicles and automatic.
  • Highly creative with experience in identifying target audiences and
  • devising digital campaigns that engage, inform and motivate
  • Ability to lead and motivate a high-performance sales team
  • Must be a member of ZIM or EIZ with a VALID Practicing Licence.
