Job Summary

o If you have a compassionate heart and want to help people during the worst time in their lives, then we want you as part of our team.

o We are a market leading funeral home with branches in Zimbabwe, South Africa and Botswana, and we need a mortician with relevant qualifications and experience.

o You will be crucial to all operations in our mortuary and transport logistics.

o We may call upon you to meet with families to discuss embalming and prepare bodies for viewing and services according to their preferences.

o You will be a comfort to the grieving, and there is no job more rewarding than ensuring everything is okay during this difficult time, so the family and friends can have a decent send off for their loved ones.

Mortician/Driver Duties and Responsibilities

o Offer counsel and comfort to families and friends of the deceased

o Provide information on funeral service options

o Arrange for removal of the deceased’s body

o Prepare the remains (the deceased’s body) for the funeral

o Embalm or oversee the embalming of decedents and all dressing, cosmetics and casketing to prepare bodies for viewings and funeral services

o Transport decedents to funeral services and set up the facilities, including casket, flowers and any displays as requested by families

o Transport bodies and flowers to cemeteries and set up gravesides for local burials, or prepare bodies for cremation or shipments to out-of-town/country cemeteries

o Promote FSG brand and act professionally at all times

o Responsible for maintenance of fleet and report any issues to supervisor

o Help in scheduling and arrangement of funeral services

o Complete vehicle logs and maintenance records

Requirements and Qualifications

o Grade 12 Certificate

o Relevant certificates from recognized institution

o +2 years’ experience in the funeral industry business

o A clean driver’s license
