For further information about Jhpiego, please visit our website at www.jhpiego.org. Jhpiego invites applications under The Health Workforce for the 21″ Century (HW2 I) project. HW 21 implements country level activities to accelerate progress towards addressing key human resources for health (HRH) systems barriers to sustainably achieving President’s Emergency Fund for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) 90-90-90 goals. HW2 I provides support through technical and implementation assistance and generation of information through implementation research and analysis, including active sharing of results in order to inform program implementation. HW2I examines novel interventions and technologies such as HRH modeling, more efficient HRIS development and efficient remote mentorship. In Zambia, HW2I will provide support to the Ministry of Health (MOH), the Health Professionals Council of Zambia (HPCZ), and the General Nursing Council (GNC) to improve HRH management and increasing capacity of health care workers (HCW) to deliver quality services. These positions will be contributing to the following Objectives: –

• Understanding of HRH hires and gaps in Zambia

• Increase the number and capacity of nurses to prescribe ART/PrEP and manage and provide ongoing support for PLHIV

• Increased MOH capacity and ability in Human Resource Information System (HRIS) design and management

• Improved health care worker’s HIV service delivery capacity through continuing professional development by building tele-education/telemedicine technology platforms

• Strengthened ICT for HRH planning

Data Entry Clerks (X5)

Position Overview

• Data Entry Clerks are responsible for entering the backlog of data into the HPCZ and GNC HRIS database.


Technical Leadership

• Daily data entry of health professionals’ details into the HRIS of the Zambia General Nursing Council of Zambia and/or the Health Professions Council of Zambia.

• Prepare, compile and sort documents for data entry;

• Check and correct source documents for accuracy and completion

• Review the database routinely to update, correct and verify data where necessary

• Enter data from source documents into prescribed computer database, files and forms

• Transcribe information into required electronic format

• Scan documents into document management systems and or databases

• Respond to requests for information and access to relevant files

• Comply with data integrity and security policies

• Records management, archiving and filing

• Generation of reports

• Other data entry needs as identified by the Zambia HW2 I project.


• Diploma or higher qualification in information management or other related field

• Recent direct experience support in data entry needs into HRIS of the Zambia General Nursing Council of Zambia and/or the Health Professions Council of Zambia

• Proficient in use of computer systems and MS Office applications

• An understanding of data protection needs

• Experience with data entry using the GNC/HPCZ HRIS systems and processes

• Preferably trained on data entry using GNC/HPCZ HRIS systems and processes

• At least two year’s relevant experience in a similar role

• Ability to work in a complex environment with multiple tasks, short deadlines and intense pressure to perform

• Ability to work as a team member with diverse team of partners and counterparts

• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (oral, written and presentation)

• English fluency (verbal and written) required

• Ability to travel up to 25% of the year.
