Zambia National Commercial Bank Plc (Zanaco) is inviting applications from suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the following job aimed at contributing to the Bank’s strategic vision, in the Commercial Division under the Transactional Banking Department at Head Office:-
Job purpose
The Head Transactional Banking is responsible for planning, coordinating and monitoring sales of transactional banking services which primarily includes cash management and trade finance solutions to ensure sustainable and profitable growth of the Bank’s transactional banking business.
Under the supervision of the Chief Commercial Officer, the following are among the Job Key Responsibilities:-
Develop/provide input into the development of the Transactional Banking strategy/strategies in liaison with the Corporate, Treasury, Commercial and Agriculture Banking units.
To take responsibility for developing and sales of cash management, supply chain financing and other trade t products (e.g. letters of credit, guarantees), in line with financial performance targets.
Lead and manage a sales team of product specialists including assignment of responsibilities and targets and managing their performance to meet Bank objectives.
To understand the customer and competitive landscape in respect to transactional banking services and provide insights and analysis to management to aid in decision making and enhancing the Bank’s value proposition.
To understand and match customers’ needs with product capabilities and provide oversight in the preparation and presentation of tailored transactional banking proposals.
To manage negotiations of and approve terms and conditions with customers within assigned limits to maximise revenue and profitability on transactional banking services and products.
Working closely with other sales units and Marketing to manage and grow a portfolio of clients utilising the Bank’s transactional banking offering. This includes developing and deepening customer relationships to grow the business and increase wallet share.
Manage the account planning process in collaboration with the other sales units in the Bank to identify and close opportunities for additional business or cross selling.
To develop and maintain a transaction services client/ revenue pipeline.
Maintain a healthy constant touch with clients and ensure their service requirements are met effectively and efficiently so as to build client loyalty and first to mind banker of choice status.
Prepare budgets for and monitor Transactional Banking performance to ensure that the Bank is realising all targeted income from its cash management, trade, transaction and other relevant products and solutions.
To analyze relevant management information and identify trends in transactional banking product uptake, revenue and other relevant metrics research and provide reports and insights to management.

Qualifications
Grade 12 Credit or above mandatory in Mathematics and English and any other three subjects.
University Degree in relevant subject.
Professional Diploma in Banking and Finance is an added advantage.
At least five to eight (5-8) years’ banking/work experience in cash management and trade products.
Good knowledge of transactional banking services and products particularly related to cash management and trade finance.
